Hi Ricky

Your car has disc brakes so you need to release the brake pads not shoes (they are for drum brakes). That should help when you buy a new set.

Loosen the split pins which hold the pads in the caliper. You should then be able to push the pads out. It sounds like the pads are worn down so much that the caliper pistons are at their full reach.

Once you have slid them out, you need a piston retractor tool to push the pistons back in the caliper in order to be able to fit the new pads.

SLide the pads in, use copper grease on the back surface to stop them squeaking. Once done, pump the brake pedal to set the pads and the job is finished.

the rear shoes are auto adjust so if the handbrake cable has not been over adjusted and is not siezed then it should work ok what i would do is to slacken off the handbrake cable. make sure the shoes are good and the auto adjusters are free then drive it for a run and keep using the foot brake then readjust the handbrake cable

Brake peddle is low,
Pedal, not peddle. First make sure reservoir is full at the brake master cylinder. Then check your brake pads (for disc brakes) and/or brake shoes (for drum brakes). When the pads or shoes are very worn down, you will get a low pedal. If you have disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear wheels, first try just replacing the front brake pads. If you get a good pedal after the front is done, many people tend to let the rear brake shoes go unless they are making noise. These systems are designed to put most of the braking force on the front discs, so the rear shoes do not need changing as often.

Hi the noise seems to be coming from the back of the car and I just replased the drums on the rear brakes about a month ago.
pull off the drums and inspect the hardware holding the brake shoes on it may have broke a retainer for the shoes allowing the shoes to twist and release causing the clicking noise. hope this helps

Tightening the handbrake
the first thing to do is to slacken the handbrake adjuster on the lever off completely.then if you have rear drum brakes remove the drums and make sure that the handbrake levers on the shoes are not siezed and are returning to the stops plus that the auto adjusters are not siezed if not free them off so they are using wd40 or whatever and the linings/drums are ok then reasemble and pump the brake pedal a few times to let the auto adjusters work then readjust the lever to about 5 to 7 clicks if you have got rear discs then one off the rear calipers may have siezed or both handbrake cables should also be checked for being siezed

Slacken off the cable at the e brake handle , check the cable underneath for any adjusters if there are slacken them off also , Next look for little rubber plugs in the backing plates of the rear brakes remove and using a screwdriver or brake adjusting tool wind the adjusters until the wheel is rubbing on the brake shoes get the 2 rear brakes rubbing the same the adjust the e brake at the handle until it clicks 3 or 4 times when you pull it up and that should be about right.

if you have rear disc brakes all you have to do is take the two bolts off and lift the caliper off and pull the pads out but now if you have drums there is a rubber boot behind the whole drum assembly take it out use a screw driver or a brake tool to back off the tension of the shoes
