Change your dealership ,infact i would say this is not a ford reconised dealer ship,it might advertise ford full stop.Any good dealer would reconise this problem as the switch and i have taught 16/17 year old who would have had your problem fixed and sorted in 10 mins.adrian,,,,,,,,,,,

1995 Ford F150 - new water pump, new temp sending unit. Have bled the cooling system of air. Why does it read below normal (when it reads) and is this normal? 5.8L 4x4. Produces cookout heat lol Thank you...

Just for testing, you could use a resistor in place of sending unit. one resistor represents cold, the other hot. If gage reacts properly then the wiring--temp gage and instrument cluster should be ok. If not, then you have a problem in areas mentioned. You can get resistors at places like radio shack. Just a thought. good luck.

Heater not blowing hot air

Hi Chris, sounds like your thermostat may be worn and not closing all the way which would cause your engine to run cool at times. If you have a temp gage it should tell you if the engine is actually warming up or not. If not I would replace the thermostat.

Heater runs hot then goes cold

Do you have a temperature gage in your instrument cluster? When the temp goes cold, does the temp gage rise? Check your coolant level both in the radiator and the coolant recovery tank under the hood, and fill as necessary. If that is OK, then check your serpentine belt for wear and/or slippage around the water pump. Lastly, if you have a temp gage and are noticing fluctuations in the reading, you may need to replace your cooling system thermostat. Good luck.

2001 vw jetta 2.0 Gls - Heat blows cold air.

It will probably be your thermostat that is jammed open , try fitting a new one , the thermostat is located in the housing on the side of the engine usually just above the gearbox , trace the top radiator hose to the engine and you should be able to find where the thermostat is ,
