ECM IS LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ITS NOT HARD OR EASY BUT WHEN REPLACING ECM IT HAS TO BE REPROGRAM NOT A HOME FIX UNLESS YOU HAVE A GM TECH 2 SCANNER TO REPROGRAM ECM WITH.YOU HAVE TO REPROGRAM IDLING - CRANKSHAFT SENSOR - AND THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM.

No reverse, clicking noise when in neutral and sometimes even goes forward when in neutral, is this worth fixing. 1996 olds achieva

if the car is in overall good condition, no rot or rust, decent cosmetic and everything else works i would say it is worth the investment, the achieva is a good little car.
transmission rebuilds are not as costly as replacing the whole car

On your 1996 olds achiea the crank sensor is located on the front of the engine , its near the crank pulley,look on the front area on the backside of the engine.

Line looks like it goes to exhaust broke or fell off sounds like a huge vacume leak lost power 1996 achieva

it's your EGR system your computer is trying to
adjust to the problem & can't hence the power loss
replace the tube & remove the egr valve & clean it while your at it your car should run better & get better milage

Removal and replace belt tensioner on 1994 olds achieva s.

Nothings easy on achieva.- Remove power steering, top motor mount(make sure motor is supported from top) ,right front wheel,(support body).Remove splash panel.now you have room .might have to move engine up or down
