I need an engine for a 2001 ford focus, however i cant find any used ones around. what other engines match this car?

Those IAC motors are specific to the engine and have a number on them that has to be matched.

You have to replace the engine with the same engine because of the computer and the wiring and the transaxle

It is according to where you get it worked on, weather you would want a rebuilt,new or used engine and weather your "core" (bad engine) is acceptable if needed. Most garages have shop rates from $25 to $50 per hour. I can give you a rough estimate for that type of average shop bills for similar repairs. I would say a good used eng. should run $700 to $1000 (check the junk yards near you). The garages should take probably between 12 and 18 hours to do the work (I haven't checked the book time on that model). IThey will surely need most all fluids,misc seals and gaskets. Adding $150 to $200. I would expect a shop bill of around $800 to mabe $1000 in addition to the cost of the engine.

this can be a serious problem, sounds like one of your engine valves, has the car overheated recently? if your valves bent, you need to take the engine apart hope i helped

relays are found usually under the bonnet (hood) and up near the bulkhead (firewall). But cant be sure as you have not given me year, model, engine.
