My 2000 Chrysler concorde overheats all the time. Im looking for the fuse or relays to the radiator fans as they don't seem to be coming on. I just replaced the radiator a couple of days ago.

Check in the engine compartment fuse box (a.k.a. Integrated Power Module, or IPM), Fuse No 19, 50A.

Also check the "Relay - Radiator Fan High/Low Control" and the "Relay - Radiator fan control", both of which are located in the IPM. Check inside the IPM's lid for relay locations.

had the same problem in 1994 grand am, done all that and wiring harnness never found it , put jumper wire to ingition switch turn the key on fan came on.. its not right but it fixed it for ten years. before doing this check for power to relay look at plugs to relay and prongs for fuses. Some ans are controled by ingition switch, remove key from ring while running lift key see if it comes on

I am having the same problem with my 1999 chrysler concorde amoung other problems. But they will work at times and then they will just stop for no reason. Have you found any solutions yet?

Sounds like an electric cooling fan issue. Make sure they are working when you turn on the a/c. If they are not, you have a fan motor, relay, or fuse problem. Hope this helps, TJ

Well if its getting hot and boils change the thermostat.once it overheats the thermostat is different and its character is altered. is there coolant leaks that will need to be addressed. look at the radiator cap and inspect it are the seal worn Youll need to replace it if it is , now how does the coolant look like is it rusted in there.that will need to be flushed. now if you are driving it does the cooling fan come on.do you want to check to see if it comes on with the car running turn the a/c on does the fan come on if it doesnt then you need to find out what happened to it. here is what causes a car to over heat : coolant leaks,radiator plugged,thermostat,non operating cooling fan, radiator cap that cannot seal the system properly .

The thermostat is located at the inlet hose from the radiator on the front of the engine.
Here is a diagram of the housing.


There are two fuses for the cooling fan and two relays as the fans run on two different speeds.
These fuses are in the under hood power distribution box.
Fuse "E" and fuse "B" and the fuse for the relays is fuse# 21.

sounds like the cooling fan(s) are not working. possible a disconnected plug near radiator . my guess is the mech forgot to plug it back in. check around the radiator for any plugs that are just hanging loose . also check the fuses . there may be one for cooling fan and see if it is burned out.

The fan gets it's signal from the engine temp sensor, located near the
thermostat housing. There are also 2 relays for the fan hi + lo located
on the fan shroud(2.7 eng.) and for the 3.5 eng. in the fuse/relay block
near the radiator expansion tank. Hope this helps.

The seized radiator fan has probably caused the current overload that blew the fuse and subsequently damaged the fan supply relay.
Repair or replace the seized fan if possible.
If not able to replace/repair immediatley, temporarily leave the fan disconnected, but be aware it may cause engine to overheat when vehicle in operation and will definitly need to be fixed before the vehicle is fully serviceable.

Replace the fuse and fan supply relay if faulty and repair/replace any burnt wiring.
I would not recommend re-arranging the wiring or fuses in any way - as that may cause further damage - especially if you don't know exactly what you are doing.

I'd test the fan by connecting it directly to the battery to verity it is functioning. If it is, check the relays that control the fans they should be located in the fuse box in the engine bay. If the relays are ok the only other thing that could be causing the problem is the temp sensor on the radiator.
