The fuel filter is external, will be an in-line fuel filter meaning it's screw into the fuel line, more then likely will be under the hood over by the fire wall.
Some of the Sebrings have two filters(one is called a sock). The sock(which all sebrings have) is located in the fuel tank itself on the pump module. If this model is the JXI then the external filter is located on the belly of the car between the tank and drivers rear seat. I hope I could help!!!
There is not inline fuel filter on a 2004 Sebring. The only filter on it
is the one on the fuel pump and the only way to change that is to
replace the fuel pump. $175 at autozone. Ridiculous I know!!
The fuel filter located in the tank is good for the life of the pump and does not need replacing. The filter usually changed is under the car - follow the fuel lines till you find the small barrel type container with a fitting on each end. (Note the direction of flow indicated by the arrow on the filter.)
The fuel filter on the Sebring is tucked up next to the tank towards the passenger side rear wheel. You can to pick up the fuel filter from Advance Auto Parts or Auto Zone for $25.00 Purolator Fuel Filter Part Number: F55302
Good luck and hope this helps. Auto Zone can give you the step by step to replacing the fuel filter free of charge.
Sounds like either a fuel pump problem, clogged injectors, clogged fuel filters, or a tune up issue. Start fixing the cheapest stuff first - the clogged fuel filters and injectors. Then check the tune-up specs, wires, and sparkplugs of your car to make sure everything is in order. Also, make sure your car's air filter is fine and air is getting to your engine. Finally, check the fuel pump. And dont think you always have to replace your fuel pump -- the wire to the pump may simply be loose or corroded. Good luck...
the easiest way to do this would be to remove the fuel filter and turn the key on the fuel pump will pump it all out for you. you may have to cycle the key a few times as it will only run for a little while at a time usually about 30 seconds per cycle
test results say they really don't work. but just find your fuel filter and attach to that line. or call fuel max company and if they are a good company they should have assistance.
