Nissan maxima keyless entry problem. vehicle will not start on 1st try, all light light on dash, no clicking noise or anything else. cycle key off & try 2nd time, car starts right up. I am 3rd owner & did not get remotes with vehicle. now check engine light is on & codes indicate both crankshaft position & cam sensor malfunctin. could theses be related & whats the solution!!
Sounds to me like you need a new ignition switch. not the ignition in which you put the key into but the switch that is mounted to the back of the ignition switch. there is a white round switch mounted to the back of the ignition cylinder. I thing it has a problem. so you don't need the while ignition cylinder, but the electrical portion of it only.

The best way is to use a scan tool to clear the codes, that will turn off the light, also disconnecting the battery over night may work, but no completely sure about that, it varies from year to year.

You need to program it. Here is how you doit.
Step by step:
1- get inside and lock all door with the "power dool lock switch"
2- insert the key into the ignition 6 times "IN and OUT" nice and steady until your hazards flash on dashboard. You can just keep inserting the key until you see the hazards flash, but 6 times should do it / get you into the program mode.
3-once the hazards flash, turn the key to ACC position (dash light up, but car is not running)
4-press any button on the remote (hazards should flash)
5-turn key OFF
6-remove key
7-unlock door with "power door lock switch"
8-open door DONE.
Good luck

this problem could be caused by the mass air flow censor, i had the same problem with my car. it is really pricey at the dealer so you might want to check elsewhere for this part. I found one at a scrap yard for 85% less that the dealer and i also got life time warranty, the dealer does not offer any warranty on this part.

it is a cable that links you transmision to the dashboard
i am not sure what the name of the cable is
but if you hold the start position and switch the gears to neutral it will start.
