Locating an egr vavle on a 2005 dodge stratus

givit a major tune--chec egr valve--clean throttlebody and idle motor-----plug wires probly worn inside--bad thermostat causes warmup and mpg problems

Have you changed the fuel filter? If not' this may be your problem!

You have an EGR valve. For a specific location I recommend the Haynes repair Manual on your vehicle. This manual will also giving you testing procedures for testing the EGR valve.

EGR valves are usually on top of the intake but with the Hemi plastic cover you cannot see much. It will have a single vacuum line running to it.

If it's a chrysler engine the thermostat is located just below radiator cap. If mitsubishi diamond star engine it's located on the cylinder head , beside the air cleaner housing

If I had been him, I would have talked you into a Chilton or Haynes manual for your car. They are easily detailed enough to show you the location and  Iwould be surprised if a chain operation like AZ didn't have the right one on hand.

real easy. remove the top of the airfilter, then pull the bottome piece out. the egr vavle is on the engine with that tube going into it. there are 4 small bolts, 2 8mm for the tube, and 2 10mm to the head. should take about 10- 15 mins to replace. make sure the engine is cool.
