Okay maybe they forgot to reset it, you can reset the light your self, here how. turn the ignition off with odometer showing not the trip, next push trip button in and hold while holding trip button turn key on continue to hold button until maint light goes out you will see a 0 show up for about a second and then the odometer will show up the light is now reset, if light is still on then repeat steps.
The maintenance reqd light has to be reset when you get an oil change. If you have the owners manuel it will tell you how to reset it.
SOURCE: reset maint req
Reset - step 1 turn the key to the 'on' position. using the trip meter button, toggle the lcd until 'ODO' is displayed. step 2 turn the key off. now, push and hold the trip meter button. while holding the trip meter button, turn the key to 'on'. step 3 while you continue to hold the trip meter button, you will see on the lcd disply five (5) small dashes and they will begin to 'count down' rather quickly. step 4 continue holding the trip meter button and once all the dashes have been cleared, your lcd will display six zeros (000000) - release the trip meter button now - and then the lcd will display 'ODO' and your current mileage. at this time, your 'maintenance required'/oil change light has been reset.

generally the Maint Req'd light will come on when it's time for an oil change. You DO NOT need to take it to a dealer to have the computer reset. Complete waste of time. I have a Tc myslef and take it to the local quick change place. Put your key in, turn it to accessory position while at the same time pushing and holding the trip reset button. Then start the car. It will reset and unless you have changed the factory settings will remain off until the next 5k miles and your next FACTORY recommended oil change. Also your tire pressure light may come on at some point as well. The reset button is in the glovebox. Once you start the car, push and hold that button to get the light to turn off. (you cant do this while driving) That light turns on if you air pressure is low, you have uneven wear in the tread of the tires and currently mine is on all the time....I put 4 brand new racing tires on (not factory tires) and the computer thinks things are out of wack but my pressure is fine and the tread is fine. I just live with that light being on.

With the igniition off, press and hold the odometer button, turn the key to the "on" position, but do not start the car. Keep the odometer button down until the oil light begins and ends flashing. Turn the key off, and then start car to see if it worked or not.
