Oil light coming on intermittently and a noise like a clicking or tapping noise while oil light on then when light goes off no noise but oil is ok it is a 2002 Toyota echo auto 1 point 3 engine . Would appreciate any help with this . Thanks and have a nice day :)

If your car has hydraulic tappets and low low oil pressure at engine speeds then it can make tapping noises. Oil pressure is needed to maintaine the tappets clearances, excessive cleaeances will produce noises.
Thats a good guess. Check your oil pressure if possible. You may need a new oil pump. The tapping could be pistons or valves when cold.
The oil light could be bad sender. They are not necessarily related. Don't replace anything until you determine the cause. ie: check oil pressure.
Assuming the oil level is full the answer is yes. Have the pressure tested with a mechanical gauge. You may need to just replace the sending unit but it's best to check. If engine makes any tapping noises when light is on do not drive it till it has been checked out.
10\40 oil ,before changing oil put an engine flush in the engine,then change oil and filter.the noise sounds like noisy tappets,the oil leak unlikely to be head gasket unless u are losing water
Next time it's tapping at idle, press the brake pedal hard several times. If it stops tapping then gradually returns then it is a noisy vacuum pump.
It can go on like that or years (if you can put up with the tapping that is!) if you start to loose servo assistance while manovering then it's time to change the pump.
