On my 1998 Grand Caravan, the ABS light has come on and I know that I need to replace the front brake pads as I heard them squeeling this weekend but also now the front blower stopped working for the AC with the rear blower still working, as well as the turn signals have now stopped working. I'll be replacing the brake pads tomorrow but I don't see how the ABS light turning on can affect the turn signals and the front blower? Any ideas?

the abs sensor or the wires to it need to be checked. There is one on each wheel, so look at all four .

Bad brake master cylinder could cause this, It will start leaking internally and not build up pressure. Will happen just do to age, will need to replace it and bleed brake system.

ABS = Anti-lock Braking System. It means there's a malfunction of some sort. It could be the ABS pump, one of the ABS speed sensors located on the axles just behind the steering knuckles, etc. Your best bet it to head somewhere (garage, dealership, Advance Auto) that can read the code the ABS system is throwing. This way you'll know exactly what's wrong with it.
As for it being a big deal.. well the ABS system won't function when it detects an error. What this means is if you have to jam on your brakes, the tires are going to lock up and squeel to a stop. With the ABS functioning, the computer will pump/release the brakes so the wheels don't lock up, giving you more steering control in the stop

you have to get new brakes as soon as possible. depending on how long it has been doing that you may need new rotors to about 300 to 400 bucks if there al disk. [email protected]

Your brake calipers need to be replaced.

THERE IS NO NEED TO DISARM THE ABS SYSTEM WHEN REPLACING THE BRAKE PADS. SERVICE THEM AS YOU WOULD ANY OTHER VEHICLE YOU HAVE DONE. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

The most common failure of an ABS is wheel sensors. I doubt you'll have to replace the entire system.

If the ABS lite is comming on, the module is detecting a problem in that system. There will most likely be a code in the computer. take it to your dealer and have it check. The most common problem i see in these is a failed speed sensor.

Sounds like you have pushed the brake peddle to the floor after you changed the pads. This can cause major probs in the master cylinder. The brake warning light should come on if this is the trouble. Frankster016

sounds to me if you replaced all of that than the power booster is sticking
