My 1990 honda prelude 4ws si model that i just bought and just replaced the battery in and altanator in struggles to accelerate if i put my foot down but if i gently accelerate it still is verry sluggish but eventualy gets there . please HELP!

there is a cable mounted on the altanator farsten by a 12mm nut if that is broken or not hooked up
unit will not charge. use a tester to check for continuety or chech conection on battery harness

Where is the transmission dipstick on a 1990 honda prelude si

I only know about the dipstick for the automatic transmission.
It is located to the passenger side of center and is burried dwon very deep - you almost have to reach full-arms-length down, between hoses and air duct to reach it. It has a wire loop handle usually covered in orange/yellow rubber. All total it is about 6 inches long when removed. It is so hard to find that I thought mine was missing and bought another one before I found it.

You need to check the tcm for codes too. The s3 light is like the check engine light for the tcm. The VSS code might be your problem.

all you in fo is not there if you said your battery was dead but you could jump it and it would run but not charge battery then you altanator is working but you have a dead seal in the battery replace battery and you will be fine but if you drive it to much with bad battery your altanator will go bad from over working

Spark plug gaping

Go to your nearest Autozone or other parts house and buy an inexpensive plug gapper. I gap the Honda plugs at .045 .
