The filter is located on the inside of the drivers side frame rail around the area of the drivers door.
I had that problem with my S-10 pickup. I changed the fuel filter, and the problem went away for awhile. Every once in awhile, the truck would stumble when leaving stoplights. Then one day, maybe a year after the filter change, the fuel pump failed and left me stranded. My advice: check the fuel pressure while you are changing the filter. Stock fuel pressure is AT LEAST 10 PSI. If your fuel pump is putting out any less pressure, change it before it fails. After the fact, I got my original fuel pump working by tapping on the motor. It was only delivering 7 PSI.
