Engine starting problem.

When starting engine cold or hot, idles very low and turns off. While idling low the accelerator does not respond. After 2 or 3 tries it keeps idling low,after +4seconds it starts idling normal and accelerator normal. The car runs great.no lack of power no smoke. It has 46.000km only.

SOURCE: high fast idle at start up.

On most newer cars there is a fast idle motor controlled by the computer that will hold the fast idle till the engine reaches a preset temp in the computer then the engine should drop down to the set idle according to specs for that car. If the oil pressure continues to stay low after the idle goes down you may need to replace the oil pressure sending unit or if worse case the oil pump.

It may take as much as 60 PSI to overcome the fuel pressure regulator. No, you can't blow through it. I suspect you have a fuel starvation issue. It could be a clogged fuel filter. It may more likely be a pressure leak inside the tank. That pressure gauge you mentioned comes highly recommended at this point. There is a flexible line connecting the pump to the metal line in the tank. If it ruptures, you have only minimal pressure, and the vehicle starves for fuel. Using the gauge, turn the ignition on and off a couple of times, (do not start) If the filter is choked, you will still achieve pressure to overcome the regulator. If it never makes that much pressure, then it is the flex or the pump itself. My first experience with this I found the rupture after the third pump! Embarrassing!

i have run into this before. the mass air flow sensor is contaminaited take it out clean it with parts cleaner on the element first if this doe not fix it replace it. thank you

there is no idle adjust, that is the PCMs, job 100%, all the time.

Carbs are gone.

here is rule one for all EFI.

idle is the last thing to work correctly.

anything the causes a gross imbalance of engine power to engine load, under idle will cause , idle controls to fail.

low idling causes. (over 50 but, here ar basics)

1: AFR (air fuel mixture too lean) usually surges. (clogged or leaking injectors. or fuel pressure way to high)

2: air leaks, cause racing, so not that. (speed density car ,if is)

3: egr stuck open. low idle and misfire.

4: ISC stuck closed (IAC electric)

5: cam belt slipped, timing retarded, compression at 1/2 spec, and well, valve will bend soon....

6: CEL glowing running? can be in limphome, limp cancels Idle controls (in may cases) RTM read the FSM on DTCs.

if fails hot?, is hot = 180F temp or more? "thermometer time"

if not, the PCM goes , quite nuts.

cold or hot. there are 2, on all suz engines (what transmission, 3sp,4sp or 5sp)
post symptoms, sure bad idle but hot , cold or both
hot means engine is at 180F or more holding......
is hot idle above 800 RPM or Below?
is the idle surging out of control hot?
Does hot idle (spec 800) drop in RPM with cab heat fan on and Headlights turn on at the seam time.? (yes, bad iSC funcition)
if ildle is low, say so, that is cause by other bad parts. (or set wrong)

)The fact that thge engine idle fluctuates when it is cold indicates that the Fast Idle THermo Valve is out of adjustment.
This valve is located ot the front of the intake manifold on the driver's side just below the accelerator cable. To adjust it, wait until the engine is cold (best to do it first thing in the morning).
Remove the two screws holding the cover on and start the engine. There is a brass needle sticking up through a plastic ring that has two slots in it. With the engine idle fluctuating, use a thin flat blade screwdriver to SLOWLY turn the ring CLOCKWISE
until the idle stabilizes. Once done. put the cover back on withg the two screws and you should be done.
