follow the top radiator hose to the engine and the dome looking end that the hose connects to is the thermostst housing remove the two or three bolts from that and the thermostst is under that
It's not bad. They make a special tool to remove the motor from the arm assembly, but with a little determination I was able to remove it with out the tool. If your wipers aren't working try running power to the motor first to test it. I swapped it out and the problem ended up being a bad ground in the switch. I bypassed that for a little while by running a jumper wire from the engine block to motor. It also could be the pulse module they are known for going bad in GM vehicles.
