2000 lincoln ls v8 overheating. I change the thermostat and burped the system out, and some how it still is overheating. My AC and heat stopped working too! I drive about 20 miles a day and the fan doesn't spin fast at all, I need to put done more fluid in the hydrolic fan resivor but I don't think that is the problem. I'm looking more into a sensor for the fan? If any one has any suggestions please reply.
Some cars have 2 water temperature sensors with one operating the cooling fan and the other operating dash indicators.
Since your A/C stopped working it sounds like the power may be off in a relay. Want to say go to reputable mechanic so you do not fry your engine.
You also do not want to be taken for an A/C recharge you may not need. Cooling fan should work whether A/C is off or on.
Some fans have 2 speeds so it is possible to need a replacement if only 1 speed works. You need someone to know the power routing. For instance, is the relay getting a signal from the temperature sensor? If the power is going to the relay, does it go to the fan? Is the fan bad on 1 speed or both speeds? This is independent of whether the A/C has a full charge.
Be careful of the spinning cooling fan blades if the fan turns on without warning.

There is a hose on the side of the coolant resevoir that has a straight blade screwdriver fitting in it. Open the fitting and this will bleed the heads on the LS. Without opening this you will never get the air out of the head, trust me.

look back towards the firewall in the low side AC line, that is the larger of the 2 lines, the charging port is in that low side line.
SOURCE: I need the location of the low pressure ac port
The lincoln better idea engineers put the low side freon port in a peculiar place.. You will find the low pressure port near the compressor under the car on the driver's side. You will need to put your car on a lift to get to it. Once you raise your vehicle, take the plastic shields off and you will find the compressor...yup...it's a tight spot.
Hope i was able to answer your question...be safe.
SOURCE: cant find where to add freon in my 2002 lincoln ls v8

Sometimes a vacuum leak can cause the engine to run lean and hot, Have Auto Zone run a free code check on the car to search for a stored trouble codes this may help.
