2006 cobalt won't start after a severe thunderstorm. Battery was check and is good, light turn on, turns signals work a/c blower works, however, radio does not.Doesn't even click or turn over. All seniors check out. What's the problem?
This means your battery is dead. Whether it's from a catastrophic failure of the battery, or something ran it down is to be determined later, but for now you should be able to jump start it to get it where you need to go. Be prepared for it to not start again once you shut it off, so make sure you're someplace you can get a jumpstart, or fix the car. If you charge the battery, or jump it and run it for a while, if it doesn't start again, you have a bad battery. If the alternator is bad, you'll get a big failure of the gauges and lights, and it will quit running altogether. If you're nearing about 60,000 miles, your alternator is running out of time anyways, so be prepared for that one.
Also, Coke will not do anything but wash off some of the corrosion and make everything sticky and coats your battery in flammable sugar. Use a suspension of baking soda in water (turns the lead sulfate into green saltwater and Actually neutralizes the acid)(I am a chemist by current trade, previous trade was fixing rocket launchers for the military)

Check your battery, make sure terminals are tight and clean. If terminals are corroided, pour name brand coke a cola over terminals; the acid will eat away the corrosion. If this does not work, check connection to starter. If starter connection are good and you are sure battery's good, then your starter is bad.
