How I replace thje radiator in my 1991 toyota corolla?
disconnect all the hoses attached to it, depending on which set up you have ( they had 3 in that year ,, you need to remove the trans lines, ( basically anything that's attached to the radiator as far as hoses and smaller tubes connecting to it,) then remove the top fan cover,, the bottom of the radiator is either held in on the top by this plastic fan cover, and the bottom just slides into place on 2 prongs at the bottom, into a rubber mount, Or you will have small bolts going down the side rails of the radiator hat need to be removed,, then just lift it up and out the top.. NOTE: make sure the vehicle has cooled down, you need to remove the radiator cap prior to disconnecting anything,, and the over flow tube that leads to the over flow tank, I normally don't mess with the little drain valve towards the bottom of the radiator , since most the time they are stuck in place, and drain sooooo slowly even if you can get them open,, I always just remove the lower radiator hose, and fully expect to get a little wet,, ( which is why you want the motor completely cooled down before attempting this ) have a drain pan under the hose to catch the water, and if you happen to have any pets, be sure and not leave any fluids that come out around for them to lap up,, antifreeze can be deadly to animals, and the smell is very attracting to them for some reason, so clean up any spills, once to have the old one out, Just reverse the order to put the new one back in,, be sure and use a 50/50 solution of antifreeze and water in the new one, , it will keep the car cooler, and add to the life of the parts
