How do I adjust the headlights in a 1997 ford crown vic? I see some screws with a clip over a plastic outer cover, conical. is that it? They point too far down, not enough frontal coverage.

SOURCE: Adjusting headlights on 2002 Crown vic

I noticed this is 6 months old so I don't know if you have figured it out yet but heres an answer for you. On the back of the headlights there are 3 plastic heads, they turn but spray some wd40 or something on them first. You might have to take the headlights assembly out to get a good bite on them.

SOURCE: Wiper motor replacement for a 99 crown vic

I replaced the same part on a 1994 Crown Vic. There are a few bolts which go through rubber mounts on the firewall and that is how the wiper motor fits against the firewall. There is a clip on the wiper drive that must be pressed and slid off the wiper shaft. The hardest part was getting clearence between the engine and wiper motor. If I remember there was a way to turn the wiper case to clear the engine. I have asked myself why this was engineered like this? There is nothing important in the way that 3/4" of clearance could have been given for removal.

1997 crown vic wipers

usually it is the switch on the motor(plastic cover) you might try and snap it off the motor, clean the contacts, then apply dielectric grease to the plastic arm assembly.

2005 police P71 4.6L crown victoria. headlights work fine. pull back on signal handle, the blue light on display illuminates, yet headlights are out. no illumination to high beams. pull on handle again,...

The head light controls on a police car are exactly like those on any other Crown Vic. I have repaired dozens of them. More than likely you have no contact inside the multifunction switch. I would replace the switch as the most likely source of the problem. These are easy to change, just remove both halves of the plastic cover around the steering column and there are two Torx (also called star screws) screws holding the switch onto the column. The screws are on the bottom down in wells of the lower calm shell cover, they are cross points (Phillips)
This is a fairly common failure on police cars (P71 and P73 option).

How to remove the headrests to put seat covers on for a 1989 crown victoria?

90% of head rests just pull out. the others will have a button where the headrest goes into the seat. If yours doesn't have the button, then push the headrest down and **** it up with some force and it will come out. Just be carefull you don't hit yourself in the face with it. Been there done that

1997 ford crown victoria -- need to replace the plastic housing for the front corner lamp on the passenger side. How?

if you mean the indicator lamp then some vehicles have a little screw on teh top by side of the headlight ,and others have a spring at the back of the light ,some are incorperated in the headlight moulding .Lift the bonnet and have a good look is best advice because even models in the smae year can vary .

Just a simple question.which screws lower the beam on the headlights on a 1999 crown vic?

Don't remember if you need to remove outside cover to get to it (some trim frames have an access notch) but there is one adjustment in the center top of the light frame (up/down and one on the outer edge of frame L/R) you need to adjust both because as lamp changes position it pivots slightly on the other adjustment.
