350z's have an in-tank filter that by the book does not need changed. Only really needs changed as often as the fuel pump itself. If you really must know and are determined, try getting a service manual from a Nissan dealership or a Haynes manual

Go to autozone they have all the tools you need to rebuild your system, for a fully refundable deposit. I recommend that when you change the filter/dryer that you also change the orfice tube or expansion valve. The filter is a tall silver canaster that sometimes is wraped in insulation. Its usually about 5 inches tall and 3 in diameter. Hope this helps.

No, it is in front of the fuel tank right behind the tranny crossmember support somewhat hidden by a metal cover. Easy to see if you just look near the middle of the truck - under the where a back seat would be if you have the 4-door model.

yes that can very well cause that and tyhe filter is in the gas tank like a strainer on the fual pump, it should be serviced every 110,000 miles
