2003 Jeep Liberty check engine codes P1391 and p1698

Both point to a problem with a module rather than a sensor. We have an auto-electrician Expert here and hopefully he will be along. The first thing to do is clear the codes and see if they come back. If they do, you need a good auto-electrician, not a mechanic and not a guy from Autozone.

Check camshaft and crankshaft sensors and wires leading to them. This code means it the computer isn't getting signal from one or both sensors.

98 dodge avenger p1391 code, had no start first with no code and replaced dist..didnt fix it..then replace crank sensor and that worked..ben running fine for a year..now all of sudden runs crappy and...

Check connections to crank sensor, then reset your comp by disconnecting your battery cables and holding them together. Make sure to have the code cleared as well.

P1391 (M) Intermittent Loss of CMP or CKP Loss of the Cam Position Sensor or Crank Position sensor has occurred.

Ford p1391 trouble code

According to engine-codes.com the code is for a problem with the glow plug circuit on bank one. That circuit would need to be checked.

What do code p1391 mean

P1391 means intermittent loss of CKP and CMP , these sensor are monitor when the engine cranking,or running,These can come from a damage flex plate for the cranksensor or damage tone wheel for the camsensor,to a failing cranksensor ,failing camshaft sensor, to even the harness intermittent connnection

Hii, i have a computer code thingy and i hooded it up to a Chrysler and it gave me the code P1391, i dont know what that is!

P1391 is a code relating to either the Camshaft or Crankshaft sensor. It could also be a wiring connector fault. Hope this helps...

The above can cause rough idle on the Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L V8 Engine.

Can try to replace the sensor, but verify that the wires are ok first.

1391 is the intermittent loss of either the Camshaft Position Sensor or the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

Is your engine running rough, sputtering; or has it recently stalled out? If so then either one of these Sensors could be failing. However if your engine stalled-out or sputtered, this Code will appear. IF there are no other Codes (like a Misfire Code) then the Crankshaft Position Sensor would be the 1st Sensor to replace, then (2nd) the Camshaft Position Sensor.

Helpful TIP: IF you replace either the Sensor MAKE SURE you use approved replacement OEM parts. Some after market Sensors have been found to be faulty and/or will fail.
