My 2006 Chevrolet Uplander is hesitating and gas mileage seems to be down, could it be the fuel filter? How difficult of a job is it to change it? Where is it located?

Change fuel filter in a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander - prev.gif Fuel Filter The fuel filter is part of the fuel tank module. (in the fuel tank)

It's kind of difficult to drop a fuel tank and replace the fuel tank module due to the weight and danger of gasoline catching fire or exploding.

I have constantly had poor fuel mileage on my 2006 Chev Uplander, the dealer says they cannot do anything.
I am looking for what may be the cause for the poor fuel mileage.
I have a the large fuel tank and I am lucky to get 650 Km (400 miles) on a full tank of gas.

The fuel filter is located in the gas tank. It is all one unit filter, pump and housing. To change it you will need to drop the fuel tank. It is about an 1 to 2 hr job. Also you may want to change the upstream sensor as well...

Try this..At the driver's seat open your car door all the way then look at the dashboard end. Pry off the plastic cover...the diagram should also be at the back of the cover.

It's on the driver side frame. It's not hard to install one. Just have to have a special tool to get the line off the filter.

SOURCE: 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS ,supercharger maintenance 2.0L five spee

I use 5W30 Mobile 1 synthetic-5 quarts.

The air filter change is a real pain.
Remove driver side tire.
Remove driver side wheel well.
You will see the filter canister in the front of the wheel well.

I had a mechanic do it for me and it took him 1.5 hours. If you plan to do it yourself, be sure you have plenty of time and alot of patience.

2006 Aveo has low fuel economy. Changed out thermostat because it was not keeping temp at acceleration. Now the temp is stable, but still seems low at 180 F and still have bad gas mileage. No check engine...

Many things can contribute to low fuel economy, tire pressure, driving style, milage, and state of the servicing.
What sort of milage does the car have?
Has it had a tune up recently?
Air filter condition?
Fuel filter condition?
Transmission service if milage dictates?

I need to change the fuel filter in my 2006 chevy uplander i wanted to know if the fuel filter is in the tank or on the out side

Unfortunately it's inside the tank. It's about a 3 hour job to replace so if you go that rout you might as well replace the fuel pump at the same time Sorry for the bad news...;)

Looking for the location of the fuel filter on a 2006 chevy uplander 3.5 6cyl.

there is no external filter in the fuel line, filter is in the tank, doesn't need to be changed unless you have a pump failure

Why si the check engine light on on my 2006 Chevy

Tighten your fuel cap 3 times to make sure its tightned. don't push it in when you tighten it. Use Fuel injection cleaner like once a month... You may have gotten bad gas. Don't use 100 percet gas. Use gas with ethenol... you get better gas mileage. I go through 3-4 tanks a week. I use the 87 octane and I put Berrymans Fuel injection cleaner in once a week. I don't know about your hesitations though I drive a 5 speed

Where is the fuel filter on a Mazda 6 2006 ? I have terrible idling and hesitation on the car for 3 weeks no one seems to knwo for sure what it is. No service engine light or reading on the computers....

The fuel filter is part of the fuel sending unit inside the gas tank. There is no other fuel filter on the car or no other way to replace it unless you change out the fuel filter.

Starting hesitation problem with 1994 chevrolet

This problem can be associated with many things. First thing to check is plugs, rotor and timing. Check the spark plugs to see if they are dirty or fouled up. Then pull the distributor cap and check the rotor for burnt or fouled ends also check the electrode tips in the cap. If you have noticed your gas mileage going down these would most likely be the problems. If not check your fuel pump relay and fuel filter. If those are good and you are not having gas mileage issues the next most common culprit could be a ignition relay or coil that is starting to go bad. Most of the time a general tune up and timing check will fix a cold start issue.
