1998 corvette c5 has miss at idle. I've changed plugs and put in a new throttle positioning sensor. Put products in gas for water. Still misses.

I tried cleaning the MAF and there was no improvement. It seems to have more of the problem after it is warmed up. The miss is still there.

I also have a slight miss when the car is in idle and in park. When the car is in gear it idles fine. I have 1999 C5, I have changed the plugs and wires and have cleaned the MAF sensor. I even tried an idle relearn. Any other suggestions?

Try cleaning your Mass air flow sensor. When the MAF sensor gets dirty, it can cause your engine to run slightly lean and make sure your engine is running at normal operating temperature with a good thermostat.
At idle, if the MAF is slightly dirty and giving the wrong signal to the PCM. There is a good chance that your engine have a lean condition enough to cause it to have a miss. It's may just be in the perimeters that it will not set a check "service engine light" on, but will cause it to miss.
Start with that and post us back, be glad to help and thank you for using fixya.

My explorer idles fine in park but skips and misses when under load

K the next thing to check is the throttle position sensor. It's probably going bad. The same thing happened to me on my 1995 F250 5.8L

1998 Grand Marquis. Start goods. idols low. put in gear, stalls out. Changed fuel filter & had injectors serviced. Problem remains. Could it be the Transmission modulator valve?

I would check the operation of the idle speed control valve, it is what changes the idle speed when a load like the transmission is put on the engine, without it the engine will idle slow and stall out, this is even more apparent when reverse gear is selected or drive or the AC is tuned on. The ISC valve is located on the side of the throttle body top of upper intake manifold. Below is a picture of the ISC (idle speed control valve)

Check engine light on? Any codes? Missed before and after the cap was changed? Or is the cap new so you assume its good. I have had caps bad out of the box.

My 1989 corvette runs great but when it is just setting at a stop light it has a little miss to it i have put new injectors in new plugs wires an it still wants to miss at an idle.

you may need the fuel and or the top end(carboned valves) system serviced(cleaned) the fuel filter changed.the miss must be minor as the check engine light has not come on or you didn`t mention it.it could also be a valve sticking just enough to cause the miss.while changing the plugs you may have closed the gap on a plug without knowing it.

2000 dakota with 4cyl power miss at idle new plugs wires cap

Sounds like it might be choke? Maybe a vacuum line leaking around the throttle body? Or oxygen sensor? Or throttle position sensor? Or mapp sensor?

Not positive, but I would try those in that order. I hope this helps.

Burb is missing. put new fuel filter in plugs, wires.may be water

If one cylinder is missing at idle, it would be useful to know which one. Pulling the plug wires one at a time with insulated pliers would tell us if one does not cause a change.
It could be a fouled plug.
You could switch plugs with another, to verify.

If not spark, could be fuel.
If throttle body, then not likely.
If individual injectors, then pull whole rail off and see if all injectors fire, spray pattern like cone, and none dribbling.

If none of above, then consider intake leak, collapsed lifter, valve adj, etc.

95 escort gt sport 16v Dohc

iit can be, buut it also can be your oxygen sensor which can be real fickle with the gt
also air flow sensor can be a pain.
When you check either sensor make sure that when you replace either you reset the main computer form the car.
Simply by disconnecting battery for 24 hours. Otherwise you will still have the same problem
