Hello
Fuel pump is located in the fuel tank.
you need to drain the fuel tank
and then remove and let the fuel tank down away from the floor of the car there will be 2 fuel lines to disconect too
once the tank is down in the center top of the tank there is where the fuel pump is at there is a ring that holds the fuel pump into the tank this comes off by rotating to the left
the old fuel pump comes out
clean off where the new fuel pump goes
in stall the new pump and ring
raise tank
install lines and strap
add gas
good to go

THe fuel pump can be removed through the rear seat of the vehicle. Remove the rear seats, lift up the carpet and there you will find access to the fuel pump. Remove the lid by removing 4 screws and BAM! theres your fuel pump. There is no need to drop the fuel tank.

Trying to determine how to access the fuel pump in 2004 Jetta to replace it. Do you have to drop the tank or is there access through the vehicle elsewhere? I am unable to locate this information, other...

The pumps are installed inside your fuel tank; since liquid fuel cannot blow up, this is the best location for installation. In order to replace it you must drop the tank and get at the pump from the top. I would check fuse #28, which is the fuse to the fuel pump relay before pulling the pump. Otherwise, you would be wise to consider the amount of work involved in dropping the tank. It requires removing the bolts from the straps, pulling the fuel lines, removing the gas inlet, removing the connectors and then you get to the pump. Let me know if you want to go this route and I will do my best to give you step by step direction to remove the pump.

Fuel pump heats up and malfunctions??? HaHa that's a good one. Tell the dope that told you that, I said the fuel pump is only going to get as hot as the fuel it is sitting in....or at least, lets hope so, unless you like to see bombs go off!

The best advice I can give you is this:
1. Check to see if there are any fault codes in your computer. (On an '86 Subaru, the computer might not be very smart, but check it anyway.)

2. If there are no codes, run the engine untill it stalls, then pull one of the spark plugs and see if there is any spark when you try to start it.

3. If it has spark, then you should check to see if it is getting fuel.

You have to find out which system is failing (Spark or Fuel) before you can even guess what is causing the problem.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring sedan?

Some of the Sebrings have two filters(one is called a sock). The sock(which all sebrings have) is located in the fuel tank itself on the pump module. If this model is the JXI then the external filter is located on the belly of the car between the tank and drivers rear seat. I hope I could help!!!

I need to replace the fuel pump in a 1992 Jetta GL. I would like to do this repair myself. is this a difficult job. How is it done?

It is not difficult, if the location is convenient. You start by disconnecting the battery. The pump is in the tank. You pull up all the carpet in the trunk, and thiere is an access panel pass side close to. seat

Where is my fuel filter located? my car is a 1993 VW jeta III GL

Look under the car, towards the rear passenger door, along the side of the undercarriage. It will look like a can without a label. It will have one line going in and out of each end.
