If you put your car into reverse while driving

I put my 2000 neon automatic into reverse at about 90kph, the wheels locked for a second, the engine stalled , and the oil pressure light cam on. Does this mean there is serious transmission problems or does the reverse inhibit function take care of this.

sounds like the e brake cable has stuck, see if you can pull it to activate the e brake at that wheel if there is already tension on it you can cut the cable and replace it later (especially if its an automatic) please rate and good luck -jeff

Is it automatic or manual trans? Dose it die as soon as its put in any gear drive or reverse? if so and it being an automatic sounds like its probably a problem with the torque converter clutch.
