As stated above, it is most likely your RKE (remote keyless entry module). It is easy to find and relatively easy to replace yourself. I just recently did so on my 2002 PT Cruiser. Got a used module from a 2005 at a salvage yard. Put in the module myself. However, you do have to take it to the dealer to reprogram so your remotes work with the module replacement. That cost me $50. If you are interested in doing the labor yourself, email me. [email protected]
OK, it sounds like the power door lock module went bad when this happens. It can seem to take on its own personality when this happens.
Take your car to an auto electric shop where they can pinpoint where the module is, and replace it so that your problem will go away.
Good luck to you on this.
