Hi
Very common on the 306, the door wring from the inside of the door jar into the side of the dash board gets frayed and then the windows stop working or work intermitently, does the wiondo go up and down when the door is all the way open? try it and let me know.
Most likely it will be the wiring, please get back to me if you are unsure what I mean.
I had a similar problem with my old peugeot 405 diesel, something electrical was shorting and actually sparking in the engine compartment which in my case the garage fixed very easily. Same symptoms, the speedo flickered at low speeds but stopped at higher speed.
Most likely to be the Bitron speedo interface behind the glove box, I replaced all the diodes, capacitors and both chips on mine (electronic expert), though you could have dry joints on the back of the dash or the road speed sensor on the back of the gearbox.
hi i have a garage this problem i encountered myself the other week disconnect the battery for about five minits and then reconnect this solved the problem on this P reg 306 good look if you have not sorted your problem.
