2006 cadillac CTS 2.8 v6. Two side brake lights went out

Hello,
I have 2006 cadillac CTS 2.8 v6. Two side brake lights went out and don't work only when you use brake pedal, when i use the alarm on the car they flash like they should so the lights are fine. The light in the middle works fine so do the turn signals.

also on these cars brake lights look good but the filament in the bulbs go out they will have light brown discoloration at the base. just replace the bulbs and your good to go. you must remve the trunk liners and 2 10 mm nuts to remove the light fixture

All three brake lights went out at the same time on my 2006 cadillac cts found 15 amp blown fuse in rear fuse box. Replaced twice and as soon as we push on brake pedal fuse blew again.

You have a dead short to ground somewhere on the feed circuit to the brake lights . Your best bet ,take it to a automotive electric shop. Or search finding electrical short on youtube ,an try your hand at fixing it yourself.

My brake lights went out on my 2006 cadillac cts. i checked the bulbs and the are fine. I located the fuse box under the back seat but have no clue which one to change.

If all the brake light went out at the same time, then i would look at the brake switch. this is located along the brake pedal somewhere. remove it and play with it and see if will get them going again. if you do get the lights to start working, replace the switch. good luck.

Yesterday my back brake lights both went out. How do I fix the problem? Thank you, Yvonne

Hello Yvonne:

1st thing to check is your Fuses, Could be that its only a Blown Brake Light Fuse.

If your Brake Light Fuse is good ,Then i would Try to put New Bulbs in and see if its That for some reason both bulbs just happen to burn out at same time.

And if still no Brake Lights you'll need to Replace your Brake light switch, which is located drivers side under dash mounted to the Brake pedal Metal part up above where you push the brake pedal.

You'll see the wiring that connects to the Swith,Just pull off the wire connector and remove the brake light switch.

Yvonne this will get your brake lights working.

HOW TO REPLACE A BREAK LIGHT SWITCH FOR A 2005 CADILLAC CTS

The brake light switch itself is located on the brake pedal follow it down until you see where it connects and unplug the connection ...after installation make sure the brake light switch is correctly adjusted by having a 2nd person stand behind the vehicle as you press the pedal the light should come on if not adjust the switch higher up by turning the switch inward ..or upwards by screwing it in if it constantly on unscrew it until lights go out and its fairly easy once you actually look at the part and the pedal ...i hope that helps you

Brake lights not working, trunk light does work, how do I fix this probem

Check the fuse for the tail lights, if fuse ok, check the brake light switch under dash near top of brake pedal, might be bad.

I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS. Both my brake lights went out and don't work. Turn signal works. Could it be my brake actuator that isn't working or something else? thank you

Check the fuse and see if it isn't blown, if it is good, check the brake switch, it's near the top of the brake pedal on the back side.
