Trying to find out where cylinder 6 is on a 4.7L v8 dodge engine it is in a dodge ram 1500, 2003 model year

Fitting is one thing, will it run is another :>D They are computer controlled, so the ECM has to be compatible.

it all depends on if you have a v6 or a v8 under the hood... v6-1,6,5,4,3,2 with number one at the front right engine cylinder and number two on the left front engine cylinder, number one on the distributor cap should be at 9 o' clock when looking at the engine from the front... v8-1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 also number 1 cylinder at the engine's front driver's side, with number 2 cylinder on the passenger side most front cylinder, number one on the distributor cap should be at 7 o' clock when looking at the front of the engine... also both distributor shafts run clockwise, so should your firing order... or ya bang...

does it have engine breaking?

check engine light and code P1391 crank or cam position sensor

The above can cause rough idle on the Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L V8 Engine.

Can try to replace the sensor, but verify that the wires are ok first.

If you have a v8 1,3,5,7 on drivers side front to back 2,4,6,8 passenger side front to back v6 same just don't have 7&8

its a V6 so there you must find where 1 cylinder is and on the oppesite side is the number 2 cylinder it works like this 1,3,5 are on one side and 2,4,6 are on the other side
