I was driving home and the motor started running rough and died would barely start but not keep running like i got bad gas could it be the fuel filter 2000 chevy extended cab Z21

Follow the fuel rail back to where the fuel line connects. That is the fuel regulator. There should be a schrader port where you can connect a fuel pressure tester. Look for a cracked vacuum hose that connects nearby too. This can cause flaky problems too. If you can't find the regulator body, then it's incorporated in the gas tank with the sender.

If you have a carb its chock .If injection its fuel related filters regulator restrictions if fuel flow ect.

Fuel filter clogged, weak or faulty fuel pump. Have fuel pressure checked, if its ok, then check igniton coil or module.

Should be on or near the fuel injector supply rail.

I Think Your Problem Is Still With The Fuel Supply,Have You Changed all Fuel Filters,Follow All The Fuel Lines Make Sure There Are No Kinked Fuel Hoses,Some Times You Find Small Filters In The Top Of The Fuel Injectors.

Problem is not solved but I did change the fuel filter, coil pack,ICM and have proper fuel pressure to the motor. Car starts but dies right away. I cant seem to find out if the fob on the key ring has something to do with stopping the motor. This fob says Radio Key by Secure Key with a number 35077 stamped on this thing.. Still trying to find out what this is and does it effect the cars ability to run

Check the gas it could be contaminated, Not to sould like a Wise guy but are you sude it 's not deisel fuel you put in.

Check the electrical for key on power to the fuel pump relay, it sounds like the pump will only run in the start position.

also with request of pcv valve check does car shake or vibrate when trying to accelerate? if that is to be the case more than likely bad pcv valve.

seems like a fuel problem. not enuff fuel reaching the fuel injectors.
