Crank sensor

had issue with my 1997, bad computer, twice(4.0 liter grand cherokee laredo) also with a 1995 cherokee, same motor, crank angle sensors go at 80k-100k miles.

When you say it loses power, do you mean electrical power or engine power ?
You would need to look at the fuse boxes for a loss of electrical power, and use a scanner or code reader to check the computer for trouble codes for a loss of engine power.

Sounds like a plugged up catalytic converter to me and the other just sounds like a bad brake light switch

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

not sure when a tune may have been done but that is a suggestion and cleaning the throttle body throat with some cleaner.

If you have zero oil pressure thats a BAD sign, first have a mechanic check what the engines actual oil pressures are.

The most likely cause of something like this in a Chrysler vehicle is a faulty Body Control Module (BCM.) I believe on the Grand Cherokee, it's located under the driver-side instrument panel. It will likely have to be replaced, but you may want to contact the dealer to see if re-programming the BCM might help it. These modules aren't cheap, unfortunately!
