Need go check voltage at starter, under car, on small wire going to starter, check with test light, should have voltage there, while key is in stater, have some one hold it there while you check, if you have voltage there, with key to start only, bad starter assembly.
Alternator has nothing to do with a car starting. All it does is charges the battery. If the battery is good and charged then you most likely left a sensor unhooked or you did not disconnect the battery to replace the alternator and popped a fuse or possilby damaged a computer if a short occured.
SOURCE: car wont start, charged battery,
get the car on tow by another car get it to about 30 mph then bump it and as it starts put the clutch down and rev it hard mine did it and it was all the injectors cloged up with fuel
SOURCE: Charging problem.. Wont charge battery
The instructions for installing a new alternator usually read to fully charge the battery (12.3 - 12.8 volt range). Otherwise, the alternator will be damaged when it initializes. I have seen some extreme damage result from installing a new alternator with a low-charge battery. The torque required to turn an alternator when damaged in this scenario is unbelieveable!

Sometimes the alarm thinks the pos. battery cable has been cut so it kills the ighition. You will have to look in the manual to see how to reset the alarm. You may need a code. If its not the alarm, you may have blown a fuse or worse, fried the computer when you put the alt. in. start at the begining. Check the battery cable connections, battery voltage, alt. wires and connections. if the headlighys work but the car won't start, it's prob. not a "connection" problem.

are you sure the alternator is good? because it could be tricky ...The only other thing is the wire running back to battery pack to charge battery maybe disconnected
SOURCE: NEW ALTERNATOR, NEW BATTERY, CAR still dies and wont start
Check the main power fuse that goes to the alternator output. if the alternator went out it could have burnt this fuse also.
