2002 pt cruiser--no brake lights--have tail lights--replaced brake light switch 3 times--brake lights work for about a week--ideas?

I would like to know if you have turn signals working in the rear. These are the same bulbs that brake lights use. If you don't have turn signals, then you need to replace the bulbs. If you do, then there is probably a wiring issue, or a circurt breaker problem. Hope this helps?

Replaced the brake light switch completely, but as soon I hit the brake pedal, the brake light warning light comes on again indicating that there is a light out in the rear. But all the lights are working,...

If this is a newer lexus, then its very clever. It WILL be a blown bulb, but when a bulb is out, the car lights the next nearset bulb to substitute. Have a closer look at the rear lights and check all the bulb filaments by eye.

My brake lights will not function on my 2000 grand caravan. All of the bulbs are new my rear lights work my reverse lights work but my brake lights will not

The bulbs could still be the problem since they are double filament bulbs. If your high brake light work but not the low ones the replace the bulbs. If none in the rear work then you may need a brake light switch(on the brake pedal linkage). If this is not the case the check for power to the brake light side of the bulb and repair the broken brake light wire.

What bulb do i need to replace in order to fix the rear brake light

automatic answer would be the rear brake light bulb. So much for being funny. Look at the bulbs the bulb that you will want to replace with have 2 elements inside the bulb. The single element bulb is for your tail lights.

Accessing the rear hatch brake light on a 1999 Ford Expedition

There should be 2 screws holding the lenses on for the hatch light, remove those and cover comes off. The plate lights, access them under the rear bumper, they twist and pull out, then just pull the bulb out the connector. The running board light, under board, which will take the light assembly out, or a small flat head screwdriver, pop the lens off the top of board.

No brake lights but 3rd light works all fuses are good

Sounds like a broken wire somewhere.
Since the middle brake light works I would suspect it is somewhere in the trunk or close to the back seat.
Buy or make a tester. A 12v light with a clip on one wire that you clip to a good ground on the car the other wire with a sharp point. Turn the turn signals on then poke wire to rear lights until tester lights. When tester lights you know the break is somewhere inbetween the tester and the brake lights.

Hope this helps.
