SOURCE: Wass up

when you pulled the radio apart and reassembled it, you may have not gotten the alignment correct causing a ground where ther shouldnt have been one when the radio was powered on it blew the fuse after seeing that there was a short, if it was an internal short then it is possible that the unit has already suffered from a major failure and is not worth saving, (the printed circutboards are very delicate and a short that big will just totally destroy them)

also please rember that this can be very dangerous opening things up because compacitors can hold a VERY LARGE charge for a VERY LONG time even after being turned off. PLEASE be careful at best it REALLY really really hurts, can cause permant damage to neuro system, or could even kill :( we dont want to see that happen

GOOD LUCK let me know if u need anymore help

CD changer!! I have CD disc's in there and know it wont play them, its says disc error after awhile after I try to play all discs.

If one of the discs slipped off its tray and got jammed, you will have to take the cd changer out of the car and dislodge the jammed cd.
I had this happen a few years back and the guys at the auto parts store helped me remove it for free.

CD issue and Battery Dies

Your cd changer is stuck in the read mode and drawing power. Sounds like you need to replace the cd changer before it overheats the wiring and starts a vehicle fire.

I had jump started my vehicle this winter and it had blown the disc changer.the disc s will no longer eject ,play etc.the manual i have is in french. how can i fix this problem?

sounds like you blew out the disc changer. Jumping a car can cause this occasionally, or reversing the terminals on your battery while jumping will cause the batter not to work, and can blow fuses and/or ruin electronic equipment. You most likely need to remove the cd changer and have it replaced. Sometimes you can open the circuit boards of the changer and manually fix it, but that does not always work.

My e320 06 cd changer is stuck i caanot change to load/ play another CD.

Most of the time the cd changer will need to be replaced. Your only chance is to do a power reset to the cd changer. pull the fuse for 15 seconds, re-insert and see if the changer reboots correctly. The fuse chart is behind the triangular panel on the left side of the drivers side dash panel

1999 cadillac escalade. Windows, radio, and wipers do not operate.

Thanks for the advice about the BCM. The BCM is located under the center console. There are a total of 4 screws keeping it attached. Two in the center by the CD changer and two under the drink holders. I found that the harness on the BCM of my Escalade was connected but had issues. I could push or pull up and down on it and my cars functions would go on and off intermittently. I grabbed some electrical tape and zipties and tightened up the wiring by attaching it to part of the framework on the console. PROBLEM SOLVED, at least for now. By the way, the Cadillac dealer told me that it is RARE that they have to replace these BCMs. They usually need a re-program that costs around $100.

Cd changer

Look in the back where the cd changer used to be if there are any loose wires make sure that they are not touching, If there arent any wires touching, Check the fuse box and see if the radio fuse has blown.
