2001 honda accord,check engine light on,found code p1146 and p1147,whath could be the problem?

Sounds as if the engine has developed a cylinder misfire. First thing to do is access the engine control module data by using a scan tool to see what code or codes has turn the engine light on. After you retrieve the codes proceed with the diagnosis.

Many possiblities. Have codes read for a clue, but could be EGR, coolant temp sensor, tune up items, bad coil or module.

If the light stays on, there is a problem with the system that is preventing it from working. You'll need to have someone check the engine and body computers for trouble codes next.

Horsecrap...go to an independent transmission dealer after you call the extended warranty folks and complain!
I can count the number of Honda transmissions that go bad before 300,000 miles on one hand.

First thing I would do is make sure you battery cables have a flawless connection. I had a Honda with a similar problem. I changed the battery cable and it all went away. Like magic. Sometimes these can be a simple fix.

How did you get the code? It doesn't show up on the check engine light list
