I have had the same issue with an oil leak. My friend told me it's normal, that's why you see oil spots everywhere. Despite if it is normal it still isn't good for the car! I drive an old dodge viper and want to get this problem fixed ASAP.

Cars are not supposed to leak.

A small oil leak will eventually make the whole engine slimy.

If you forget to keep putting oil in, a leak can destroy the engine from running out of oil.

You don't have to have it repaired, but if it is an inexpensive repair, I think you should. (Some oil leak repairs require somewhat extensive engine disassembly, and are not cheap...)

I have a small oil leak on the sump of my 2007 S 320 CDI. What does it take to repair it

I would (or a local shop or dealer) need to clean the engine of all residual oil and then install a bottle of special dye that glows under a black light and then verify the location of the leak. It (oil) can appear to come from the pan gasket (you call it a sump) but it may be just dripping down from an unseen leak up top on the engine like the intake manifold gasket or valve cover.

May have radiator fluid in oil 2001 vw beetle

An oil leak mixing with coolant is an internal leak, which is usually the result of a faulty or damaged head gasket, or cracked head. This is a major repair job, because the entire top of the engine has to be removed to do the repair. You can't see the leak because it's inside the engine, not outside of it. White smoke (steam) should be coming out of the exhaust pipe if this is true.

I have a 93 explorer and the tranny or oil is leaking really bad I think it's the tranny because it only leaks when in gear and its a bad leak it makes a line when I back up and take off or just sit s

Those A5 trannies are junk and can set the vehicle on fire in less than 5 minutes with low fluid. Red fluid is tranny, oil is oil. Rear seal-oil- big repair. Tranny coolant pipes-Tranny fluid-small repair. Replace filter, fluid, and gasket-it's probably over due-and check again for leaks. rear tranny seal leak, average size job.. Never use the stop leak! Throwing flour on the tranny works better-Just kidding.

My 1995 F250 is leaking radiator fluid under the engine behind the fan

Is antifreeze coming from "weep" hole in bottom of case under shaft nose?
is it coming from the heater hose (small hose coming of side and going into firewall to heater core inside engine compartment?
is it coming from bad gasket between pump and front case?

get a paper towel and dry these areas then start engine. when it starts leaking that will tell you if you need to change the water pump (gasket leak or weep hole shaftseal leak) or if you just need to replace/repair heater hose.

There is a very small leak under my 2002 Sebring. I looked under the car and it seems to be coming from one of the oil pan bolts. What could be causing it and How do I fix it?

you will have to look further because thats where the oil is dripping from---- wheres the source ??? my hunch is the oil light switch casing ,common source of oil leaks on all cars

My daughter's 2000 Altima looks like there is oil in the radiator and no oil in the engine. Is this a blown head gasket? Where is the drain plug for the radiator? Better yet, what is the process for...

Could be a blown Head gasket or cracked head. Should be a drain at the bottom of the radiator I think on the drivers side. You will need to pull the heads off and have them checked Magnifluxed for cracks. If they find none then install new head gaskets and see what happens. I have the torque specs for your head bolts if you need them. Let me know.

Oil leak

if the leak is actually coming from the head gasket the only way to repair it is to replace the head gasket which involves removing the engine, pulling the valve covers off and much much more... probably not anything your going to want to do in your driveway... if you arn't losing any oil or coolant and have no check engine light on, i don't imagine that it is a very big leak at all. i would continue to drive the car as usual and just watch the leak- if it gets worse you should have the heads done. just remember to check your fluids... it can be very costly to put head gaskets on.

If u now have an oil leak that was not there before the repair of course they should have a look for free and show u what the problem is, and from what u say fix it for free as well, stand by your guns, if they give u the song and dance be nice but insistent.
