Dual AC not cooling on driver's side. Is there a fuse for this?

Tried to help a mechanic friend by letting him replace the compressor on my van. The van has temperature controls for the passenger/driver. The passenger control appears to be working, but the driver's side is not blowing cold air. Distinct temperature difference between the driver/passenger side.

There are two blend doors with actuators in models with separate controls for driver and passenger in the HVAC unit. Apparently the driver's blend door is broken/jammed, or the actuator is not working. You'd need to check a service manual to determine how hard it is to get to and repair the driver's blend door.

SOURCE: Problem with AC, dual climate zones

The temperature blend door on the driver's side might be broken or stuck. Also, if this vehicle does not have the correct amount of refrigerant, it will do what you are describing.

SOURCE: dual climate control

There is a thing called a blend door, it controls air temp, that is where the problem is, most common issue is the motor that operates the door fails.

SOURCE: passenger side blows hot air when front control set to Air

you cant adjust it ,this requires the dealers computer to re set it,or a phyiscal control has packed up like a vacumn pipe has split where it pushes onto the valve that controls the flap in the heater unit.

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Silverado AC is blowing warm air on passenger side.

You have dual zones that are controlled by temperature actuators the passenger side has lost its memory or has gone bad you can put it in self programming by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then hook it back up start the truck turn the temperature control on but do not touch any other controls let it go thru the self programming for about 6 to 7 minutes then select your temperature you want if it still does not work properly you may have a bad actuator or a bad connection at the actuator

Even with a fully charged battery i need to use a battery pack to start the van when it does start the cooling van comes on for a minute then goes off and that continues

Check rear AC in van and turn it off. Most vans have dual AC. Even if the front AC is off, the rear is still usually on and some vehicles have the cooling fan and condenser fan run together to help with cooling. Check relay and fuse also.

After replacing it battery driver ac cold passenger and rear are hot. Tried 3sec reset to dual control to drvers side. Tried resetting the error codes. maybe relay?

No relay for this. Fuse is good because one side works. I can only assume you blew the controller when the battery was replaced. Newer controllers can be scanned. I would start there.

My 07 Chevy express van 3500 6.0 engine, we had the AC compressor replaced. It stopped blowing, replaced the resistor and blower motor. AC keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse under the drivers seat!

Insure that the 20 amp fuse is the correct size. Might it be shown to use a 30? Otherwise, when compressor was replaced, was drier, orifice tube replaced and proper amount of oil added?

A/C compressor on 95 astro van does not engage at all.

There are a few reasons for the compressor not engaging. Lets start with the most common. low ac gas.A bad clutch on the compressor.Blown fuse.
Let is start with testing for low gas. (134a freon).Locate the dryer. this is on the passenger side of engine compartment. it looks like a tall cylinder, on the top side you will see a switch. unplug switch connector and jump the two terminals in connector with a piece of wire, this is the low pressure or cycling switch. you will be completing the circuit by jumping a wire across the terminals. If the compressor turns on when connectors are jumped then you are low on gas and the system needs recharging.
If the compressor does not urn on then check all fuses, if fuses are good then the next step is to go to compressor and test for power and ground. If you have power and a good ground on the connector to compressor then compressor clutch is bad.A bad clutch will some times blown fuses, so if you replace the fuse because it was blown and it blows again then clutch is bad.
Another test that will help is when you remove the connector from the cycling low pressure switch , test the connector. one wire on the connector should have power when ac is turned on,
Hope this helps let me know what the outcome is. Good day.
I have enclosed a picture of the switch and dryer to help you locate it.If you jump the terminals

if the AC isnt cooling on idle then the fan isnt coming on ,so gas isnt cooling in the rad in front of the car ,now as for the pulling away bit i wiould disconnect the servo vacumn feed pipe and block the end of the pipe and try that in case the diaphragm is letting in air causing the idle to speed up

94 geo prism-A/C stopped cooling-fan fine-green AC button not lit

I had the exact same problem with my 95 Geo. It was the AC Compressor, but before you go and get one there are other things you can check first just to be sure it is your compressor. I took it to a mechanic and he made sure that it was none of the fuses, then he hooked up the AC relay switch to the battery directly and you could hear the compressor switch on, that made the green light turn on again. It still wouldn't cool so he manually tried to turn the AC Compressor clutch and it wouldn't buge. So I went to the junkyard pick one up for about $100 and had it switched out. If I had the extra cash I would of paid double for the new one, but it was something I didn't budget for. It cools but not as great as the old one or a new one would.

2001 jetta ac blowing hot air

Nothing is hard if you have patience and some tools or maybe even a friend to help.

Does the air go cool when moving down the road?
Does the vent air blow?

The fans for these are the same.

It is located under the hood, passenger side, right up against the firewall. They usually come out from the front.

Locate the fan motor - disconnect the wires - jumper to the battery with some clip leads, see if the fan runs. If it does, then not the fan and probably a fuse which is on the drivers side underneath the hood. It could also be the switching mechanism at that point, that's why try the heat and vent to see if anything changes.

If not replace the motor.

Let me know if there are any more fact to relay.
