your fuse box is located under the hood. it should be under a black plastic cover

  • Anonymous Jul 03, 2010

Hi, After further investigation I find that the "Hazards" fuse has blown in the fuse box under the steering wheel on RHS. Replacing the 10 amp fuse it just blows again.
No obvious signs of a short but space and vision is limited. I have removed the casings around the steering wheel and around the fuse box - nothing obvious. I know I should not do this but 15 amp fuse just blows, 20amp does not blow. with 20amp in place indicators each side do not work but hazards do then operate. The rear passenger side indicator does not light but bulb has been tested and is ok. Quickly removed 20 amp fuse as there was smell warmed wiring!!
    Any ideas please
    Regards
    John

Flasher

Be sure the fuse is in place in the fuse-box.

Also test the relay that controls the turn indicators. Occasionally, the relay itself emits the noise heard while the turn indicator is on.

2006 citroen relay indicators have stopped working and now getting "batt" flashing any ideas ?

The battery light flashing is an indication of an intermittent short. The intermittancy seems to be caused by a "hung" relay or a partially welded relay that is not releasing its contacts. Try going to the relay and fuse box under the hood and pulling one relay at a time to see if the observed action stops. If it does, replace the faulty relay. If not go to the fuse box under the dashboard and do the saqme thing!

My turn signals stopped working suddenly on my 1992 ford probe lx. Prior right side was blinking faster. Changed signal switch next to steering column changed turn sinal/hazzard flasher by the clutch...

If this is not working on the right side and is OK on the left side then one of the indicator lamps on the right side has blown out. The reduced load on the right hand indicators causes the flasher can to flash faster.
Try turning on the hazard switch then walk around your car to see which lamp has blown out.

Turn lights wont work

The indicators have a few components in their system, being: The indicator switch The Flasher Unit/Relay The fuse & wiring The bulbs The Hazard light switch.
If the hazard switch is broken or disconnected it will stop the indicators from working, so you could check that. You can check the indicator fuse, which should be labeled on the fuse cover. If it is blown, there is likely a fault that has caused it to blow, more often than not a problem with the trailer hitch or a trailer that has been towed. The next culprit is the flasher unit. They are usually found in the fuse area, it is a black box, looks much like a relay, but slightly taller. If this is faulty it will cause the indicators to either stay on without flashing, or not work at all. You can check this by disconnecting it, and connecting a test light to the terminals, one at a time while working the indicator stalk (key on) If the light lights up then this confirms the switch is okay, and the flasher is likely faulty.

It doesn't blow off heat was working fine yesterday and just suddenly stopped working

Check the Front Blower Motor Relay located in the IPM Relay and Fuse Box. It's location should be identified on the back side of the cover. There are other exact Relays (like the Spare Relay or the adjacent: Rear Blower Motor Relay or Defogger Relay) that you can switch out and check operations. If the Front works now but not the Rear, it is the Relay and should be replaced.
