You need a tune-up. I also own an Aurora. This is a great vehicle. Mine has 189,000 miles and all thats been done is spark plugs, alternator (which would explain the headlight dimming on yours, check if it's functioning) thermostat and harmonic balancer. If this was at all helpful, please rate. Thanks for asking.

I have a 2001 Olds Aurora. The gas pedal sticks sometimes and I have to press it hard to go. What could be causing this?

Throttle cable may be frayed,or the pedal mount may be loose, either way ,
BE SURE to correct this,if it sticks the other way,you may not be able to stop.

You need to get the trouble codes out of the computer first. Take it to your local autoparts store and they can hook up a scan tool and retreive codes this give you a general area start looking for the problem.

Engine Clugs and Sputter while driving up a hill

Check the fuel filter to see if it is plugged.
Remove the fuel filter, and blow air through it in the normal direction of fuel flow. You should be able to blow through it very easily. If it feels restricted, try blowing through it the opposite way, and if there is a lot of dirt coming out, you have found a common cause of this problem. Hope this helps.
