Where are sparkplugs located on the camry? want to do my own tune up.

sparkplugs, air filter change and oil change.

pretty simple, took me about an hour to do everything.

misfire cold.
ever tune it up. sparkplugs can fail when cold and rich conditions
are present(normal for cold)
ever seen the 60k service points lists it the glove box operating manual
id bet its due to not doing service.
am i right?

there really is no such thing as a tune up on a late model vehical. generally that means replace the following components: sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, fuel filter, air filter, and add injector cleaner

A 2001 echo a tune up , you will need sparkplugs , air filter , pcv valve and i would put some injector cleaner in the tank to help clean the fuel system, this cars fuel filter is inside the gas tank and is good for the life of the fuel pump and doesnt need replacing at this time,. take note that alot of the newwer toyotas use iridium sparkplugs, you will see a notice under the hood on a small sticker its sometimes located on valve cover or on radiator post warning you to use iridium plugs. i hope this helps, good day.

the spark plugs are directly under the coil packs for each cylinder. they are located in the middle of the valve covers and it take a torx bit to remove them.

There is no cap and rotor, as the vehicles igntion system is DIS (digital ignition system). The recommended tune-up on these motors require sparkplug and coil replacement. The coil type in this vehicle is COPs (coil over plugs). Usually moist and oxidation develope on the sparkplug chamber walls from faulty or worn coil boots. This causes the coil to short, they must be replaced at 75,000 miles at the same time the sparkplugs are replaced. Typical symtoms are: Vehicle stalls (restarts and runs normal), intermitted jerks/sputter while driving, misfires, rough idle, severe power loss. Hopefully this helps

chech all vacume and intake hoses. A bad hase wont always have a hole in it. Rub your hand on the hoses and check to see if it rubs off on your hand not dirt but pices of the hode itself.
