sounds like might b a main fuse. do u have a kick panel and a box under the hood? sometimes a main relay or fuse will cause many electric things to go out.

circuitry behind the gauge panel. you will have to pull the dash to see behind there and track the problem down

I dont know what year model you have, but it will either be the cable from the trans mission to the speedometer, or the drive unit that turns the cable. If its a late model it will be the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission.

Check the speedometer cable first, then the speedometer drive gear inside the transmission, if both are good the speedometer must be replaced.

Fix the speedometer cable or VSS (vehicle speed sensor) circuit before diagnosing the cruise.

The cruise control is a separate system that uses speedometer information to adjust the throttle up or down depending on the speed detected.

Also, the actuator cable for the cruise control could be broken.

But, I would check the speedometer problem out first.

this is because of problem eith the speed do meter itsef. the gear component inside the speedometer may be damages. please try replacing the speedometer itself.

YOUR SPEEDOMETER CABLE IS LOOSE OR BROKEN OR THE SPEEDOMETER DRIVE GEAR IS BROKEN ON THE OUT PUT SHAFT.

I would say check the speedometer cable, dont think year has a speed sensor. Your local auto parts store should have this part in stock at a not so expensive price.

when we dropped in the transmission we pinched the wire foe the speedometer
we fixed this wire and now the speedo works and the car shifts great.
