Yes. the light indicates a fault in the abs system (it will store a code which can be retrieved with a code reader), and the abs system will be disabled until repaired. your brakes will function normally, but you will have no abs feature.
Yes, but, needs to be taken to qualified in abs service and checked, asap
Not safe when raining check the sensors on each wheels check for broken wires make sure they not dirty.
Brake check needed
The only time you should feel the "pump" sensation is when the wheels start to lock up NOT. This does not occur just because you brake hard and is no indication of how the system is functioning. If the light is on the system is not active. The brakes will work just fine without ABS you will just not have the antilock feature. Volvo has lots of issues with this. If you have a speed sensor code for the right rear wheel speed sensor that keeps coming on, then you need a computer. 35 years working on Volvo's professionally

Hello. This indicates that you have a bad sensor or a problem with the antilock braking system [ABS]. If your brakes no longer pump themselves when you make a quick stop you know that the antilock braking system is not working. If they still pump, the problem is more likely in sensor to the ABS system. Joe

Its fine, but for safe cautions i wouldn't drive until it no longer flashes.
SOURCE: I get intermittent ABS, traction control and power
Usually when I see this the problem it's related to one of the wheel speed sensors not giving the correct signal to the ABS system. A missing or faulty sensor reading will cause the ABS and related systems to turn off which causes the warning lamps to come on. The reason it works again once you have shut off the car is that the system resets and works until it sees the problem again. I would have the service codes read with a scan tool. Once that is done the problem is usually fairly easy to track down.

brake light could be a sensor wire or the pads are worn out ,the srs light could be the wiring connections under the front seats ,the connectors need a clean or rubbish under the seat has dislodged them.Abs light coming on could be caused by the low brake pads but its doubtful more like one of the metal toothed rings is loose on the drive shaft ,also could be low on brake fluid if the pads have worn down and the fluid level has dropped

if its an orange-yellow light ,you wont have abs operation, but will still have traditional brakes, but if its a red light ,you might want to take it in,
