Check the brake light switch. Try this, pull UP on the brake pedal and see if the lights go off. If they do, the brake light switch may just need to be adjusted (located on the upper portion of the brake pedal). If there is no adjustment on it, replace it.

On My 1998 Toyota Camy when the car is on my brakes lights wont go off but if the car its off the brake light work fine why??

These Toyotas had daytime running lights. The headlights and the taillights turn on when you start the car. If you press the brake pedal, the rear lights (and the brake light in the rear window) should come on brighter.

I have never heard of the brake light staying on (The brighter filament in the two-filament bulb). Hope this helps.

Brake and battery lights stay on

when both lights stay on with the car running it usually indicates an alternator that is not charging at an acceptable voltage level. check the battery voltage with the car running, if it is under 13.5V you should replace your alternator.
