I have a remote on my keychain to lock/unlock car door. The problem is that it will still lock doors, but it won't unlock doors using the remote. I also put batteries in the extra remote that came with the car. The doors won't unlock with the other remote either. Could it be a fuse? Any suggestions? Thanks, Jeff

Will the switch on the door lock or unlock the doors, if so check the battery in your remote, it may be dead. Remove the key remote from your keychain and there is a slot in the end of the remote that will open it up so you can gain access to your battery. Pay close attention to the way the battery is installed before removing it. Replace the battery and try the door locks again. If they work, then you have solved the problem. If not, you have an electrical problem that you will have to trace down. From the information you have given, this is all I can tell you without seeing the car for myself.
I wish you luck, I hope this helps you find the problem.
this is a problem that can appear after your car battery died, cause the car didn't reset propely, so taking the battery out and putting it back in or letting your car die again would do the trick. I tried a lot of reprogramming procedured for my remote key, none of them worked, what did the trick though was simply unlocking the doors via the all door unlock button on the passenger side door, so simple.
You probably either have a piece of linkage that has come loose inside the door or the latch mechanism is stuck halfway between "lock" and "unlock" (fairly common on some vehicles). You will need to remove the driver's seat to make room to work so the driver's door panel can be removed if you cannot open the door from either the inside or the outside.
If you can get the door open, then the door panel should be removed to inspect the linkage and latch mechanism.
The title suggest the door won't unlock unless the remote is used but during the summer it was the inverse. If while inside the car the doors will not lock or unlock from the door but will from the remote then you have a faulty switch. If while outside the car the key turns while in the lock but the door won't lock or unlock then the linkage at the end of the lock is faulty. You'll need to remove the door inside plate to check this.
If the passkey is messed up, there will be a light on the dash that says security, or have a picture of a car with a lock thru it. If there is no light when the key is turned forward, then its NOT a passkey problem.
Are you using the the keychain to lock unlock the vehicle? A low battery in the keychain will send wacky codes to your vehicle alarm system and will not set properly. Try using the key in the door to lock unlock vehicle. IF the alrm does not go off when using the key in the door, then you probably have to change the battery in the key chain. Best guess without being there to look at vheicle.
