SOURCE: 1985 corvette no power to fuel pump

There's probably a relay that may control the fuel pump and the rst of the fuel system. I'd go to the local auto parts store and purchase a service manual, i believe it's only about twenty dollars. Good luck.

SOURCE: trying to locate fuel pump relay for 1991 corvette- coupe

The fuel pump relay in the 1991 corvette is located under the IP on the pass side.
Open pass door, unscrew two screws under the glovebox (you will be upside down in the car), take off the fuse panel, unscrew third screw to plastic plate underneath glovebox, pull away carpet (velcro), pull down plastic plate (watch out for the wiring to the lamp), then under the glovebox you will find a number of fuses and relays if you dive in under there DEEP, prob 4 or 5 in a row, not really sure wich one, but one in the middle is the fuel relay, and they are the same (interchangable).
Take a look at --the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp--
It´s those relays we are talking about.

SOURCE: vats system disengages fuel injection and starter

The resistor, unfortunately, will only bypass the key and the lock cylinder, but not the TDM that is the core of the VATS system. The TDM is the one often faulty instead - as it happened to me. Here is a great write-up to build yourself a full bypass that will also bypass the TDM. It is quite easy and it saved my car: http://newrockies.ca/vatsbypass

I have a 1986 Corvette that blows the 10amp fuse for the fuel pump. How can I determine the cause?

If the fuse blows after turning the ignition key to the "on" position you might try disconnecting the electrical connector to the fuel pump and turning the key to the "on" position. If the fuse still blows there is a short in the wiring to the fuel pump. If the fuse does not blow it is more than likely the fuel pump.

I smell gas after my car warms up and then it dont want to start right up like its flooding the tell pipes are turning black like there is to much gas sorry this is a 1986 corvette new engine fuel system...

you are correct it is a fuel problem/getting to much fuel,if its carborated i would try to adjust it to lean it out a bit.if its fuel injected i would try to get smaller injectors or reduce the fuel pressure.

Car won't start no power at fuel pump or fuel pump fuse. Thanks Brian

Locate and replace the fuel pump relay and see if it will start then. Also, make sure that the battery terminals are clean and secure; also on the starter, and the ground (at chassi - or block, wherever the ground leads).

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
