I have a 2009 Camry. The dash lights are so dim during the day that I can't read the mileage or the temp. They also are very dim while driving at night. This problem just started about 3 weeks ago. There is also a maint. reqd. light on and according to the manual, it indicates an oil change is needed - I still have over 1700 miles to go before I need an oil change - I change my oil every 3000 miles. My car has no way to adjust the brightness of the dash lights, so I can't fix this problem that way - any ideas?

Camry 2008 XLE V6, Instrument panel lights are too dim in day light , works normal in night .

seems to me the lamps are dim in the cluster, as in bad lamps.
the dimmer works, but can be tested, if 12vdc out on high.
the dimmer is good.
car drives perfectly,day and night, heater blower on high works.
all things on car seem to work, but just dash dimmer?
why do you need lamps in the day, not told..??? I don't
my cars never glow dash lamps (background) lamps in day
the other IP c luster lamps are ERROR lamps.
like ,(lots) CEL, charger fail,
all my error lamps are out, driving, as they must be.
so only background lamps are dim?
are outside of car PARK lamps all working?

I have a 2009 Jeep Liberty Unlimited. All my dash warning lights came on, wipers start wiping, head lights dim, all my gauges shut off, radio comes on and off but the vehicle continues driving fine.

You can raise the brightness with the dash light dimmer control have you tired that?

no there is no adjustment for that you might just need a new dash cluster where the led lights might be failing in the dash

what lights? headlights? dash lights? I would check the connections. If its the starter usually you will hear a heavy "click" when you turn the key.

2009 lacrosse...compass, clock and milage lights sometimes stay real dim and then later pop up to normal brightness so I can read them...what goes ?

Starting car in garage turns on headlights which makes believe it is dark out and therefore dims dash lights. When car is out of garage it switches to running lights which allow dash lights to get brighter. I guess I should have figured that !!!

On this vehicle the dash automatically dims with an "Ambient Light Sensor"
It has likely failed and needs replacement.under warranty.
