I have a 1999 dodge 2500 cummings diesel truck that will idle but when I accelerate it acts like it is not getting enough fuel

Call any Dodge RAM dealer parts dept and they can give you the part number, have the VIN of the truck ready if they ask which they most likely will. The other source is my trusted online Auto Parts supplier, here is a link (at bottom of paragraph) they carry rebuilt pumps, call them if you are not sure which one you need. the cable is bad replace it that will fix it

It was located on the drivers side of engine close to fuel filter housing, but dodge has been selling and installing kits that change it to the in tank style for quite some time, so if not on block it must have been converted at some time.

Take it into Cummings agent and get them to put it on the check out box (in a KW its in the dash ) but they will be able to fix your problem in about 10 minutes.

no unless you can leave the compressor on the motor without having it hooked up. The air compressor has a pulley that has to be there for serp. belt. unless you can find a belt that will fit bypassing the motor but you still have to use the tensioner!

There is a good chance that one of the injectors are leaking and needs to be replaced. It's common on the cummings for the injectors to leak if there is a lot of idle time. Good luck and keep me posted. 

if idling rough sound like air in system.and your injection pump timing is off.

Change fuel filter?

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE LIFT PUMP OR POSSABLE FUEL RESTRICTION CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER ALSO CHANGE THE AIR FILTER IF THAT DOSENT FIX IT YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE OUT OF THE LIFT PUMP BEFORE YOU WASTE THE INJECTION PUMP
