I have a 05 accord ex with navigation. my dog chewed joy stick now navi doesnt work. is there anyway to fix it? how do i know my radio serial # or code so i can search to buy a new or used one?
You will need to remove the radio to get the serial number from the radio. The radio most likely can be repaired alot cheaper than a new one. You can click on the link to this Company to have your radio repaired http://www.hitechserv.com/ they repair all radios but you will have to have your radio removed and shipped to them so they can repair it. I have had electronics repaired by them and they do an excellent job. Give them a call and let them know what is broken so they can give you a rough estimate.

Junk yard. Google "junk yard" and your location and you should get some hits. Or I like car-part.com. Once you get them, you should be able to access the bolt that holds them in place by moving the seat all the way forward (assuming that we are talking about front seats). There should be a plastic cover that "pops" off with a little influence. Remove bolt, install new/used part.
Check for a scratched or dirty Navi DVD disc. Clean or have the scratches polish out at your local game store. Video game stores usually have a disc repair machine that polishes out scratches.
Note: In some cases the Navi unit can cause rotational scratches on the DVD. If this is the case than the Navi unit will have to be replaced.
the radio code is a 5 digit code and the navi is a 4 digit code. if it continues to read incorrect pin then you may need to see your local honda dealer to get the correct pin
I've reads post here suggesting disconnecting the battery for one hour. Couldn't hurt to try it.
Also try ejecting the Navi Disk, inspecting it for any damage, wait a few minutes and reinserting. The disk contains not only the navigation Database, but also part of the operating system.
DO NOT TRY INSERTING A OLDER NAVI DISK OR ONE FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE, THAT COULD DESTROY THE NAVI UNIT!!
It is telling you you have an HVAC system error. Only the dealer can read the computer that controls Accord HVAC errors. Since everything works, it probably just needs to be reset. No repair needed otherwise.
Hold down the SCAN and SOUND buttons, located above the sound system power button, until time starts flashing. Underneath the CD Changer buttons 4, 5, and 6 are little letters 'H', 'M', and 'R'. Use those buttons to change the time. Press SCAN and SOUND to complete the time change.
R U REMOVING THE SML PLASTIC COVER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE NAVI UNIT. SML POCKET SCREWDRIVER WILL WORK JUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK COVER. I DID MINE IN THE PARKING LOT OF DEALERSHIP WHEN I BOUGHT A USED 05 G CHEROKEE.
Unplugging or rebooting won't solve the problem. Call Alpine Electronics. They are the manufacturer of the Navi System. They will replace it for about $160. Check their website online for their phone number.
