2002 XJ8 41,000 miles. At 70 to 75 MPH wind noise from the roof line on front passanger side. Taped the drip line all the way from fender to top of roof but still get noise. Door seals on both the outside and inside appear to be in good condition and I have placed a piece of paper in the door and closed it to see if there is resistance when I pull the paper out, but the seal seems firm with consistant pressure at all points. The sunroof and associate seal are positioned well and appear to be in good condition.

Most cars are very quite at that speed.
A seal must be out of place somewhere. You may have to tape the sun roof and door opening completely on the outside for testing.
Also, sit in the passenger seat and have someone drive while you listen at different areas of the door edges and roof areas through a leftover paper towel center tube.
You have some age on the car, just wiping down all rubber soft seal parts with a good rubber conditioner may help too.
.......and don't overlook the door glass seals.

SOURCE: the only door that wont

My 1994 XJS is the same way. Many suggest it is the crummy metal inside the door handle (Pot Metal) and/or the plastic connectors. I just got mine the other day, but what can I say, I am 13 years old. My dad and I are going to tear it apart over the next few months.

SOURCE: 1988 jaguar and cannot open doors from outside

need to remove the interior door panels and check all the linkages. One of them is a brittle plastic linkage that is famous for breaking, and bits get caught up in the travel path of the door handle. I had taht issue, and rebult all mine with aftermarket plastic linkages, and the metal parts I pulled from junkyard cars. No way to fix it without removing the interior door panels, but that is thankfully a pretty easy job.

2004 F150: When in 2wd the front end makes a noise like a rat...

I had this problem too. It could be a few different things but all the same result, loss of vacuum causing the 4wd to start to engage but not completely. The teeth on the clutch in the locking hub are grinding on the spline of the cv shaft as you lose vacuum and it tries to go into 4wd which is the default if everything would fail. 1st thing could be either of the 4wd locking hubs (approx $200 ea., located on the back side of each front spindle), check them to make sure the vacuum lines on the top of it are still attached these require the brakes, tie rod and upper ball joint to be removed if replacing, 2nd is the 4wd vacuum actuator (approx. $40 located on the firewall passenger side behind the battery) Ford has replaced this part with a modified one that has a little roof on it to stop the water that drips of the hood when it rains and makes it short out, this is very easy to replace (2 nuts) and last if both the above are working just fine would be to trace all the vacuum lines for a break unfortunately it is a 6-8 foot line for all the front 4wd and it costs approx. $100 if you have to replace. Not very difficult just time consuming. Hope some or all of this helps.

so it has some to do with rotation. you can jack one front wheel up, set parking brakes, start the car and put in drive. which ever side make noise, that's the one you need to inspect cv-axle, wheel bearing, ect.
check any thing that turns with the wheel

The rear usually go down the B pillar or C pillar and out thebottom near the rocker panel.

Blow them out from the top with compressed air and make sure you have air flow at the exits.. Open the roof to see drain holes in the four corners.

Wind noise on 2006 Kia Sedona

  1. Pull the covers off from the top front of both rails. They are only loosely clipped.
  2. Undo the 2 screws found at the front and the 3rd screw at the back end of this base piece.
  3. Remove the base.( the nuts are locked in on the roof)
  4. Do this boths sides and then simply release the adjusting clips and slide off.
  5. Replace bases and screws in original positions and push on covers.
Best with 2 people. One each side when sliding off the cross rails.

Solved! And it looks neater.
