The main reasons why an ABS light is on is from the wheel sensors being dirty or needing to be replaced, each sensor cost approx. $49.00-$149.00 without labor. Cleaning them should cost about $50.00+.
if the wheel sensors test good(there are 4 sensors, one each wheel) the trouble may be in the BCM(Body Control Module) this would be a costly part approx. $400.00 used up to $1,000.00 new.

The only time replacing the brakes and rotors will be connected to the ABS light coming on will be if you broke a wire to a wheel sensor... give it a scan for codes, and give it a scan with the eyes to see if there is any physical damage to the sensors/wires.
Reneber if the ABS light is on it is not the end of the world, I have a used beutiful Mustang that developed an ABS light recently and it turned out top be the BCM(Body Computer Module) way too much money, the car passed inspection with the light on because it has nothing to do with the inspection as a matter of fact it is an option that you can have or do without.
when the light is on the only thing that will happen is the ABS system will not function, you WILL have normal power brakes, I chose to let my light stay on and keep the money in my pocket, the car runs and stops perfectly the only thing it affects is the traction control switch which is only on this Mustang as an option and no big deal!!

Have the Computer codes checked out for free at ANY Auto Zone for ABS codes. It is a free service and does not cost anything. Also they will clear all codes if you wish and that will turn off the ABS lamp. If it comes back on there is a problem with the ABS system
Testimonial: "Sounds like great advice. I will do that ASAP "
Abs light and replacing brakes are no connection, If abs light is on? Its likely a sensor, You will have to test it to be sure..
The ABS system is self clearing. If the light is on the system detects a current fault. The computer will have to be scanned to determine what fault is setting the light.
